Strengthening Louisiana’s First-Stage Businesses
GrowthX Academy delivers statewide support to help high potential first stage companies build the systems, leadership, and structure needed to reach second stage growth.
Program Expansion in Partnership with LED
In 2024 GrowthX began with a first-stage cohort of 24 companies in Lafayette, Louisiana. The overwhelming success and growth for those companies led to the expansion in 2025 to a partnership with Louisiana Economic Development (LED) for two statewide LED sponsored cohorts per year. Each cohort supports first stage Louisiana companies with early traction but limited systems, leadership depth, or operational structure. These are the businesses most likely to stall before reaching the second stage.
Why This Program Matters for Louisiana
Louisiana has more than 464,000 small businesses, and over 76 percent employ fewer than ten people, placing them squarely in the first stage category. Nationally, only 16 percent of companies reach the second stage, despite the fact that these firms produce more than 40 percent of new job creation. The data is clear. Moving more Louisiana companies into second stage growth is an economic development priority with measurable impact.
The Problem We Solve
Most first-stage companies have revenue and customers, but operate without structure. Founders report putting out fires, lacking operational clarity, and having no systems for marketing, financial decisions, or team development. These friction points result in leadership gaps, system failures, and operational bottlenecks.
How GrowthX Academy Works
GrowthX Academy uses a six month hybrid model built around retreats, weekly curriculum, coaching, and implementation sprints. This model delivers strategic clarity and practical tools founders can use immediately. It is not theoretical. It is activation focused.
